Blank Canvas

I was born between Bear Lake in Idaho and Teton National Park.

Early Inspiration

My earliest memories are of canoeing, watching moose and picking huckleberries.

First Marks

I lived in many wild areas from the coast of Oregon, the Rocky Mountains, northern Minnesota all the way to Maine.

The Plan

I went to work for the US Forest Service so I could live in beautiful wild places and paint in my free time.

The Journey

I ran a snow ranger program in Utah and managed Yaquina Head light house with tide pools and whales in Oregon!

Bingo!

I began creating illustrations and paintings for the National Park Service, the US Forest Service and many other parks, forests and special places.

Let the Fun Begin

My work has been in visitor centers, national byways, the National Park Services Traveling collection, private collections and galleries. Some of my work is even at the bottom of the Hoover Dam, (the dry side!) where my paintings help explain how the dam was built. See my Commissions page to learn more.

Artists Life

I am inspired by nature and the simple everyday things in life. Much of my work is painted on the spot, in plein air. I always have my paint and brushes as I hike, travel and camp.

Now- a- Days

The best thing about being an artist is you always learn new things! I am always taking classes and working with my art mentors. I try to paint every day. I am open to commission work. See my “On The Easel” page to see work in progress.
